Thursday November 3rd is the second event that Hillel-Waterloo is putting on for Holocaust Education Week. We are doing two film screenings simultaneously at UW and Laurier campuses!

At Laurier we will be viewing 'The Boy in the Striped Pajamas' @ 8:00pm in room 2C16 (Arts building). 

At UW, we will be viewing 'The Pianist' @ 8:30pm in the MPR room in the SLC. 

Feel free to bring blankets, popcorn, pillows -- anything of the movie watching essentials.

Tuesday November 1st marks the beginning of Holocaust Education Week. Hillel has four events running from November 1 - 9 in commemoration of the Holocaust. 

This event is for the first - a silent memorial march. All volunteers will wear black, meet at the Hillel house (148 Albert) at 11:30am and we will walk together through UW campus, Laurier campus, and end at the Laurier quad where you have the opportunity to say a few words, a poem, story etc that means something to you. This is an opportunity to march in memory of someone who was in the war, whether it be a relative, historical figure, survivor, or someone you have read about whose story meant something to you. 

Please do consider spending an hour and half of your day volunteering for this cause - awareness and remembrance.

Z talk installment number three is upon us! For those of you unfamiliar with these sessions, we basically have a very mellow talk with Rabbi Zuckerman concerning out-of-the-box issues and how they relate to Judaism. It is a time to drum up those questions you normally would never ask a Rabbi about! He is insanely cool and completely comfortable and willing to share his insights with us.
