President
VP Internal
VP Finance
VP Programming
- Officially represents Hillel.
- Presides at all HILLEL meetings.
- Coordinates all activities of HILLEL.
- Delegates Presidential duties as necessary to other Executive officers or general members.
- Sits on CFJS Advisory Board.
- Criteria: Must have served a minimum of 2 semesters on executive, excluding first year representative.
If no-one fills this criteria then the position is opened to one who has served for at least one semester on executive, excluding first year representative.
VP Internal
- Assists president in overseeing HILLEL.
- Assumes the role of the President in his/her absence.
- Internally manages Hillel – communication, coordination, overseeing committees.
- Takes minutes at all Hillel meetings.
- Responsible for operational matters related to HILLEL (such as organizing executive for set up and clean up,
ensuring executives are following through with their responsibilities). - Criteria: must have served at least 1 semester on executive, excluding first year representative.
VP Finance
- Manages Hillel bank account.
- Prepares and coordinates the budget.
- Works with all event programmers to come up with appropriate budget
- Seeks external funding for programming.
- Criteria: Must have served at least 1 term on executive.
VP Programming
- In charge of executing programs including scheduling executive to be there to help prepare, execute and cleanup.
- Responsible for general programming, helps advise other committees with events.
- Prepares proposals to submit to board.
- Heads social committee responsible for assisting to plan and run events.
- Works with Social Chairperson on management of social events.
- Criteria: Must have served at least 1 term on executive, excluding first year representative.

Application and Voting Procedure
- Applications for these positions will be open until Wednesday, April 13th, 2011 at NOON. Please submit applications to elections@hillelwaterloo.com
- Once approved by April 15th, 2011 nomination letters/pictures/videos may be posted (or sent to us to post) for the general membership to see who’s running. FB groups, events, etc are encouraged.
- Voting will take place from April 27th, 2011 at 9am until April 30th, 2011 at MIDNIGHT. If you are a Jewish student in Waterloo, you can vote! Simply vote by submitting ballots with your school email (ONLY) to elections@hillelwaterloo.com
- Within the first couple days of May, official winners will be sent an email, and it will be posted here too.
Hillel Executive Positions - Fall 2011
Marketing/Publicity
- manages website, list serve
- writes weekly newsletter
- prepares posters and logos as needed for all Hillel events
- publishes Hillel info to community at large and onto campuses (via all media)
- prepares recruitment plan for incoming semester and ideas to constantly recruit new attendees
- manages membership with VP Internal
IOC Chair
- Run events on UW and WLU campuses as per their needs
- Heads up IOC Committee: 1 Campus Head for each campus. These 2 Campus Heads, along with any other members will make up the IOC Committee and will report to IOC Chair. Campus Heads will undertake majority of logisitics for IOC Events on their respective campuses
- Ensure Israel’s presence on campus through various methods and media
- Pre-emptively plan for IAW
