About Hillel
Hillel Waterloo is the centre for Jewish campus life in Waterloo. Serving the University of Waterloo, Wilfrid Laurier University, and Conestoga College, we strive to bring Jews together through social, religious, and educational programs.
Hillel is a student-run organization. Led by a committed student executive, and supported by a full-time staffperson, Hillel provides an amazing opportunity for students to develop their leadership skills.
Hillel is also a resource for Jewish students in Waterloo, offering connections to local synagogues, liaisons to university administration, and information on Jewish traditions and rituals.
Hillel events are open to everyone, regardless of religious affiliation. We aim to provide an inclusive, warm, and welcoming environment at our events, and we encourage anyone interested in Judaism or Jewish culture to come out!
In 2010, the long-standing Jewish Students' Association of UW/WLU became Hillel Waterloo. By joining the international community of campus Hillels, Hillel Waterloo reaffirms its commitment to enriching the experience of Jewish students. Hillel Waterloo will also continue the JSA's strong tradition of engaging students and developing student leaders.
